Update ..........................................................

It's old news now. But, had I promised that I would post here that the Town of Kitty Hawk has decided to discontinue any further consideration of the TOSS proposal for fire service.

This the first opportunity I've had today to access the Internet.

I hope that this leads to a more careful contract negotiation process.

  1. David,
There never was any "discussion" of a TOSS proposal by the town board of KH. Only a wild rumor reference to it, put out by who knows. Sure, the KH town manager might have been contacted; but it never got to a board majority; not even via street talk. Just goes to show how rumors can spread wildfire. The only reason KH board put the notice out was they found out was they learned about the rumor "after the fact."
Common sense would have told everyone that KH would want no part of SS's mess. And, the SS fire department and town officials should have had enough sense to know that. The whole matter reminds me of school boys fighting at recess.

  2. Wow! It's funny how your blog has continual info when it's helping stir the pot with the rumors flying, but yet it hasn't reported anything in nearly a month, especially the fact that the town actually signed a 10 year contract with the SSVFD!! Guess when town can't be criticized, there's nothing to report. No bias here!!!

  4. Hi David,
I like the local slant on your blog. My wife and I hope to move to Southern Shores very soon.
